This week has been so sweet! We continued to talk about healthy hearts and learned a little about Valentine’s Day. The kids really got a kick out of the idea of “Cupid!” The kids learned to “Walk the Addition Story Problem,” and to show their mathematical thinking while using models, number equations, and actions. I am excited to try some subtraction problems with the kids while walking “backwards” on our story problem mats next week. We will also think about comparing numbers.
Thank you for all of your help in planning such fun parties for the kids this week! I hope that you all savor a fun-filled four day weekend with the kids! If you are scheduled for a conference with me next week, please note that we will be upstairs in the conference room (231) for school day times 9:00-3:35, and then in my room (116) for evening meetings.
Our week will include writing about time off, learning a bit about Black History Month, thinking about addition and subtraction, and trying to squeeze reading groups into two days! AM class will also have a visit from a local dentist on Wednesday.
Happy 4 day weekend!
