This week has been so very special! Seeing all of the sunburns and hearing all of the spring break stories just made my heart so happy! I feel like the kids were extra kind to friends after missing them for awhile too! We are now learning about plant parts and adaptations, and spent Wednesday observing and documenting information about our new lima bean "seed babies." The kids were so creative in naming and caring for their new seeds. We will take these out on Monday to observe again and (fingers crossed) with a sunny weekend we will see some new little sprouts!
Next week, our focus words will be DO and WHAT. We will continue with our reading strategy of Skippy Frog. In Math, we will learn to use new tools to show numbers and to solve word problems. The kids will explore tangram shapes through a story telling activity and will try to create shapes with "Max's Magic Tangrams." Don't forget: VIP Breakfast dates are 4/9, 4/10, & 4/11! I believe that the Book Fair will be open during those times and you will be able to purchase Time with Teacher raffle tickets.
Save the Date:
April 18th Spirit Day--80s theme
April 19th--No school
April 24th--Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast (if you volunteered for ANYTHING this year, you are invited!!)
May 9th---MOTHER'S DAY COFFEE SHOP EVENT!!!
In our Kindergarten classrooms, we will host a casual and sweet coffee date to celebrate Mother's Day. We will serve coffee, share a song or two, and read a special book about moms. Because of limited space, we would like for the kids to try to limit the number of attendees--If mom cannot attend, kids may invite 1 different special guest. Please email me for special circumstances. =)
May 22nd--Supergames!
May 23rd--Last day for K
