This week has been chock-full of fun reading and retelling opportunities! We have been celebrating Read Across America Week and had the fun opportunity to be “caught” reading by a special lady bug. A few of our students won B&N gift cards! Speaking of reading, I will be closing out the scholastic order on Monday, so that orders will arrive prior to our Spring Break—if you want to place an order on Scholastic.com, my code is: J8JC6. Your orders also give money right back to the classroom in the form of book sets and tools!
This week was also spent reading many friendship books and learning to cooperate. Mrs. Saridakis taught the kids to play Rock, Paper, Scissors to help in decision-making with friends. We shared out stories of kindness and practiced being helpful to one another. We also began practicing for our upcoming spring HELLO performance:
Kindergarten will perform for parents and special guests in the Pinney Commons on FRIDAY, APRIL 5TH, 2019 AT 10:15 (AM CLASS), AND 2:30 (PM CLASS). More details to follow.
Next week, we will continue to practice our songs, we will share books about Spring, and we will start the week with a school-wide Pinney Town Hall. In Math, kids will focus on ordering numbers from least to greatest, subtraction, and writing numerals 1-20 in their neatest handwriting!
Have a nice weekend,
Mrs. Snider =)
