It was a fast 4-day week in kindergarten! We had more fun with pumpkins and Mrs. Thompson’s class this week! On Monday, students worked together on their pumpkin rolling reflections. They discussed which materials worked the best at stopping the pumpkin…and which ones didn’t! On Tuesday students observed a pumpkin volcano!! Who knew pumpkins could be so fun?
Students continued working on narratives this week. On Tuesday, students began writing a new narrative in paper books. We will continue working on them next week, I love their writing! They are all doing a great job of attempting beginning sounds, drawing pictures that match the story, and attempting to use a two-finger space!
In math, students finished making their pages for our class shape book. Students picked one shape, cut it out, glued it to a new paper, and turned it into something. For example, a triangle became a roof in one picture and a sail boat in another! Students are so creative and really did a great job with these! Today, they finished working on shape puzzles. Thank you to all of the parents who helped me cut out the shapes for these!! Students also learned two new games this week. “Fill the 10-frame” and “Find It.”
Looking forward to next week, students will continue working on narratives, we will begin learning about measurement in math, and do another fun activity with pumpkins!
I have loved talking with all of you over the past two weeks! The students are so lucky to have such incredible loving families. You should all be proud of your students and the amazing learners they are! Thank you for all of your support and all that you do at home with them.
I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing four-day weekend!!
